Danang City is located in middle of Central Vietnam, although not a major stop on the tourist trail, it’s location between Hoi An and Hue makes a nice stop along the way. The city is one of the most dynamic of Vietnam’s modern cities with rapid industrial and economic growth. Visitors to Danang can enjoy the understated, yet fascinating Cham art and culture at Cham Museum. On the outskirts of town is China Beach, steeped in legend yet wonderfully deserted. Topography is rather complex. The South is impressive Hai Van Pass with Mang Mountain 1,708m, Ba Na Mountain 1,487m. The Est is Son Tra Peninsula, an ideal site of yellow sand beaches, historical remains, and rare bird and animal species. The South is Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains). The seashore is Hoang Sa archipelago with a large fishery.

What to see in Da Nang?

Cham Museum : The Cham People were an indigenous race who inhabited in the coastal regions in mostly central Vietnam way back in 192 BC. The tribe was heavily influenced by Indian culture, religion and even the language. The Cham Museum in Danang has the largest and the most voluminous collection of Cham art in the world.

While building the museum in 1915, the French Far-East Research Center in Vietnam, who were the financial sponsors, kept the Cham architectural patterns in mind. So the museum is adorned with thin, gentle and linear patterns. Among the exhibits in the Cham Museum in Danang, are some 300 carvings and statues crafted out of different materials including terracotta. Once they formed a part of the Cham temples and towers. Among these statues are also animal’s figures as there are humans.

Marble Mountain: also referred to as Ngu Hanh Son or Mountains of the Five Elements, consist of five marble mountains: Kim Son (metal), Moc Son (wood), Thuy Son (water) which is the highest, Hoa Son (fire) and Tho Son (Earth), The Marble Mountains are famous for their traditional stonemasonry activities. In Dong Hai village close to Thuy Son, 600 families chisel stone statues, jeweler, and art work. Stone from the Marble Mountains has been exported to many countries.

Non Nuoc Beach: Sporting green water and white sand, Non Nuoc Beach stretches five kilometers along the shore of Hoa Hai Ward at the foot of Ngu Hanh Son (five marble mountains).

My Khe Beach: is located about 6km East of Danang and about 24km North of Hoi An. It’s a seven-kilometer stretch of smooth sand with an average width between 50m and 70m. The gradient is gentle, and its sheltered position in the lee of the Son Tra peninsula softens the autumn winds that restrict swimming further down the coast.
